Conrad Sheridan (violin) and Koyo Kim (viola) will perform with Academy Chamber Orchestra in their winter concert. They will perform Andante from the Sinfonia Concertante in E-flat Major by W.A. Mozart.

A Brief Bio of Conrad Sheridan and Koyo Kim

Conrad Sheridan is 14 years old and is a homeschooled eighth grader. He began playing the violin at the age of 5, joined the Coleman studio in September, 2001, and currently studies with Simon James. In 2003, Conrad won 1st place in the primary division of the Simon-Fiset String Competition, and tied for 1st place in the elementary division in 2005. He has received Seals of Outstanding Achievement each year at the Seattle Young Artists Music Festival in both the Concerto Division and Complete Program. Conrad swims on the Bellevue Eastside Swim Team (BEST) and has studied piano with Yunbo Cassady since August, 2001

Koyo Kim has been studying piano since age 3 and violin since age 6. She is a tenth grader at Redmond High School. Her piano teacher is Wayne Slater and her violin teachers have been LeeAnn Morgan, Jan and Kent Coleman, and now she is studying with Simon James. She studied briefly with legendary violist Emanuel Vardi in the summer of 2008. Her music compositions have been recognized several times at the Washington State Reflections Awards and once at the national level when she was in Kindergarten. Koyo has received special recognition seals for the Seattle Young Artists performances in 2004 and 2008, and was a Performing Arts Festival of the Eastside winner in 2003, 2004, and 2005.
